Hello and welcome to 'The Chalet Somerset' Website!

In 2010 Simon and I decided to relocate our family down to Somerset from Surrey. We found our 'forever' home, an old coach house, which was nestled in a small hamlet called Daws Green, on the outskirts of the picturesque village of Trull. (Trull is 2.5 miles away from Taunton, the county town of Somerset.)

 

We set about lovingly renovating and restoring our home, in line with its 1860 heritage. Many an evening were (and still are) spent in the garden, with a glass of wine, admiring the idyllic views we had from every angle in the garden. There came the idea, we wanted to share our secret piece of Somerset with guests from across the country and the world by offering self catering accommodation and in that moment, 'The Chalet Somerset' was born.

'The Chalet Somerset' was completed in 2013 and is constructed from Douglas Fir and is situated in beautiful countryside and farmland and boasts the idyllic 360 degree panoramic views we, ourselves fell in love with.

It is a beautiful one bedroom, fully equipped self catering apartment with separate lounge/kitchen and bathroom.

We are immensely proud of the floor to ceiling gable end window which allows our guests to fully immerse themselves in the Somerset countryside views, all from the comfort of the king size bed.

There is a raised decking area for you to enjoy al fresco dining or simply sit and admire the wonderful views and there is of course, the orchard, for you to have a traditional coal BBQ in. This is also where our chickens live, who are an integral part of our family and we would encourage you to wander down into the orchard and collect freshly laid eggs for your breakfast. Be sure to look out for the family of Roe Deer who live in the neighbouring fields.
